I've been using the framing nailer this past week.
The first time I tried it a few months ago, it jammed on the wire used to collate or tie the nails in a clip (think of how staples are glued together). Getting it unjammed required considerable work with wrenches and screwdrivers to remove the nose piece of the nailer. What a pain!
I was really concerned because I have a 20lb box of Stanley Bostitch nails and what would I do if this happened all the time?
So a little bit of ingenuity. I took a file and smoothed out the wire on both sides of the clip so it is flatter and I've used 3 clips without problems now.
Therefore two words of advice:
- Look at how easy it is to open the nose of the nailer if you are looking to buy one yourself! Some of the nailers have a quick release catch on the nose piece.
- Also don't buy 20lb of nails unless you know they work with your nailer!
